The Carpathian Cowboy
The Man Behind the Hat

The Carpathian Cowboy was not created in a recording studio.
His story began in Transylvania, Romania, long before Canada, country music or the cowboy hat became part of the picture.
His name is Adrian Neagu.
Engineer by education, entrepreneur by instinct and traveller by circumstance, Adrian has spent much of his adult life building businesses, solving problems, crossing borders and starting again.
Romania gave him his roots. Canada gave him another horizon.
Over the years, life moved between the two — from Transylvania to Western Canada and back again.
There were businesses built and businesses lost. Successes and disappointments. New ideas, wrong turns, friendships, family, faith and more than a few roads that led somewhere unexpected.
Then came sixty.
Instead of treating it as a reason to slow down, Adrian decided it was a good reason to try something completely different.
Music.
Not because he suddenly decided to become a traditional recording artist, but because some stories are better sung than explained.
That idea became The Carpathian Cowboy.
A little Romanian.
A little Canadian.
Part businessman, part traveller, part dreamer — and now, unexpectedly, part cowboy.
The hat is real. So are the stories.

“The songs are not about getting older. They are about still going somewhere.”
